Direct Air Capture (DAC) is a promising technology that can play a crucial role in mitigating climate change. It involves capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) directly from the atmosphere, which can be stored or utilized in various industrial processes. The increase in greenhouse gases, primarily CO2 emissions from human activities, has resulted in rising temperatures, sea-level rise, and frequent extreme weather conditions.

DAC technology can remove CO2 from the atmosphere, especially from hard-to-reduce sectors such as aviation, shipping, and agriculture, providing an alternative pathway to achieve carbon neutrality. It can also create a closed-loop system where emissions are captured, stored, and reused, reducing the need for new fossil fuel extraction.

To limit global warming to below 1.5°C, it is crucial to invest in and scale up DAC technology. The relationship between DAC technology and climate change is a critical one, and we must work together to leverage this technology to create a more sustainable future.
